Jackie Shroff expresses his feelings for India's star batter, Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is not only the best batsman of the current era but is also counted amongst the fittest players going around. His hunger to score runs, dedication for the game and focus on fitness has helped become what he is today. Even celebrities and popular figures take inspiration from him and legendary Bollywood actor, Jackie Shroff is also among them.

In a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Jackie Shroff called Virat Kohli as the pride of India and expressed his love for the Indian run-machine.

“Virat Kohli is the pride of India, I admire him a lot. Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Farokh Engineer are all my favourites,” Jackie Shroff said on ‘The Ranveer Show’.

There is no denying the fact that Virat Kohli is one of the greatest cricketers ever to play the game. His consistently across formats, over the years, has been unmatched. The India’s run-machine boast of a massive fan following across the globe.

Virat has broken countless records in international cricket, since making his debut in 2008. He has single handedly won matches for his side and earned massive respect of not only Indians but also the overseas fans.

Virat Kohli will be back in the Test series against Bangladesh

Kohli has dominated the ICC T20 World Cups and singled-handedly carried India to the final in 2014 and to the semi final in 2016. However, he couldn’t help India lift the title on both occasions.

He became the Man Of The Tournament in the ODI World Cup 2023 and also went past Sachin Tendulkar to become the only batter to score 50 ODI centuries. However, unfortunately, he could not win the trophy as India lost the final against Australia.

The dream finally turned out into a reality as he helped India win the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. With that, he also grabbed his first T20 World Cup trophy. He played a sensational match-winning knock of 76 runs to lead India to victory. He, later, announced his retirement from T20Is and joined the squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka under new head coach, Gautam Gambhir.

However, he had a poor series as he got out to the spinners without scoring much in all three matches. Kohli will be back in September for the home Test series against Bangladesh.
