A Pakistani fan had already predicted that Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam will share a post of him practicing in nets after Arshad Nadeem got a warm reception in Pakistan following his Gold medal winning performance at the Paris Olympics in 2024.
Azam posted a picture of himself training ahead of the series against Bangladesh and captioned it as “Strength Through Discipline.”

Babar Azam faced criticism following his poor performance at T20 World Cup 2024
Following a below-par outing in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Babar Azam received massive criticism from fans across the country. He scored only 122 runs across four games, failing to help the team qualify for the super eight stage.
Babar Azam has not scored a single century since the Asia Cup 2023 opening game against Nepal. His stats in the ICC tournament as a batter aren’t worth applauding.
Earlier, Babar Azam had stepped down from the from the captaincy after Pakistan managed to win just 4 matches and were knocked out of the group stage in the ODI World Cup 2023. Shaheen Shah Afridi was appointed as the new skipper, while Shan Masood was appointed as the Test captain.
However, leading into the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Azam was re-appointed as limited-over’s captain. Pakistan performed poorly and were knocked out of the group stage following humiliating defeats to USA and India.
Reports of politics and lobbying within the Pakistan team also came out and the feud between Afridi and Azam grabbed a lot of headlines. Head Coach, Garry Kirsten went on to say that the Pakistan dressing room is the most unstable dressing room that he has ever seen.
Having said that, Babar Azam is still counted among the best batters in the current Pakistan batting unit. It will be interesting to see how he makes a comeback ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh.
