The latest ranking of the ICC World Test Championship for 2023-25 cycle is out. South Africa have crawled to 7th place in the table from their 8th position due to recent tied match against West Indies. They have one more Test match remaining in the series. The first Test match at Queen’s Park Oval did not yield any result for both the sides due to the incessant rain that hampered the play leaving no time to force a result.
India, Australia and New Zealand are placed at first, second, and third spots, respectively. Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and England are placed at fourth, fifth and sixth positions, respectively. West Indies are still placed at the ninth spot in the table.
Bangladesh have dropped to the eighth position with 25% points to their name. If the next Test match turns out to be a draw between West Indies and South Africa, they will remain at their place in the points table.
The ICC World Test Championship Final in 2025 likely be held in Lord’s Cricket Ground
India have been consistent in the last two editions of the ICC World Championship. They qualified for the final on both occasions but suffered defeats against New Zealand and Australia in the final in the first and second editions, respectively.
Once again, Rohit Sharma and Co. look set to be one of the finalists for the third consecutive occasion. They have some crucial Test series coming up, starting with a home Test series against Bangladesh, followed by New Zealand.
The biggest Test for the Rohit Sharma’s side will be in Australia in the form of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. That could decide the fate for both Australia and India. However, it looks like India and Australia will again face each other in the final.
