Mitchell Santner takes a blinder to dismiss Michael Pepper in the Hundred 2024

New Zealand spinner, Mitchell Santner took a sensational catch to dismiss Michael Pepper during The Mens Hundred 2024 clash between London Spirit and Northern Superchargers at Headingley on Tuesday. During the 11th ball of the London Spirit innings, Reece Topley bowled a length delivery on the middle stump to Michael Pepper.

Pepper tried to go over the top through the long-on region but didn’t get the right connection. He still manage to get it over mid on. Santner sprinted back from mid-on region and jumped in the air to take a superb catch.

The ball was always going away from him but Santner didn’t give up and ended up taking an outstanding catch. You can watch the video clip here:

New Zealanders are always known for being a live wire on the field and Santner proved that yet again with stupendous display of athleticism to take that catch successfully. Mitchell Santner is currently the second highest wicket-taker for his team this season with seven wickets to his name.

Northern Superchargers beat London Spirit by 21 runs via DLS method in The Hundred Mens Competition 2024

Coming back to the game, London Spirit were asked to bat first and they posted 111 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets in their 100 balls. Keaton Jennings scored 30 runs off 11 balls, while Ravi Bopara top-scored with 31 runs off 29 ball. Liam Dawson also chipped in with a handy knock of 27 runs off 19 balls.

As for Northern Superchargers bowling, Adil Rashid was the standout bowler with three wickets, while Reece Topley and Matthew Potts picked up 2 wickets each.

In reply, Graham Clarke gave the team a quick-fire start with a good little cameo of 26 off 13 balls. Northern Superchargers were cruising at 64 runs for 1 in 44 balls before the rain came down heavily.

The Superchargers, eventually, won the game by 21 runs via DLS method. Mathew Short played an unbeaten knock of 25 runs in 19 deliveries, while Olliver Robinson remained unbeaten on 13 off 12 balls.
