On the occasion of Independence Day, star Indian pacer Mohammad Shami’s estranged wife Hasin Jahan shared a glimpse of a video of their daughter dancing to the heartbreaking song of Vande Mataram.
India, a nation that takes a lot of pride in its independence from the long British rule, celebrates their historic day of August 15 as a day of national pride and glory. From a child aged 9 to a man turned 90, every Indian, their chest swells up when they sing the national anthem.
On this historic day of independence, we complete 78 years of being a free country in 2024, and we pay tribute to our leaders and freedom fighters, the ones who served their holy motherland to instill a sense of nationalism into the hearts of the future generations to come.
Today there might not be our freedom fighters, but there are fighters everywhere in this nation, from a selfless soldier with his gun guarding the borders, to an inspiring cricketer who makes his nation proud on the international level.
In the recently concluded Olympic games, where many of our athletes gave us reasons to celebrate, from the iconic double bronze of Manu Bhaker to Vinesh Phogat’s entry into the finals, we have had it all.
In the game of cricket, the Indian national team headed by Rohit Sharma brought in an iconic T20 World Cup victory, which ended Indian fans’ long-awaited World Cup drought. The entire nation celebrated the homecoming of the T20 World Cup as a festival, portraying the love and immense pride every Indian takes over national glory.
Meanwhile, Shami’s daughter Aariah Shami was not only seen dancing to this very notable song, but she was also beautifully adorned in a signifying tri-colour saree. The child’s grace and effortless nationalism portrayed through her dance have painted everyone’s heart in the tri-colour.

Mohammed Shami is likely in the final days of rehab at the NCA
Indian chief selector, Ajit Agrakar, made a clear indication of having Shami back probably at the start of India’s red-ball series chain, though nothing has been officially informed. Shami, who was last seen with the Indian side in World Cup 2023, was their leading wicket-taker in World Cups before he missed out almost on a year of cricket due to sustaining an ankle injury.
After his ankle surgery and also not being able to be part of India’s T20 World Cup winning squad, Shami would be a much-needed figure for India before the Champions Trophy as well as the WTC final in the upcoming year.
Mohammad Shami was reported to be seen in the nets after his intense working rehab days in the NCA, though Shami clearly showed interest in starring for Bengal before making a return to the national side. However, Shami, now 33, has not been picked for the Duleep Trophy, which lowers his chances of making a comeback before the Bangladesh test. Still, the leading fast bowler should be eyeing a red-ball return before the BGT.
