Former batting coach, Vikram Rathour, has praised India’s captain in Test cricket and ODI cricket, Rohit Sharma, for being a shrewd captain and being a sensational tactician. Rathour remarked that while Sharma may sometimes forget things like whether he chose to bat or bowl at the toss, or even leave his phone and iPad behind on the team bus, he never forgets his gameplan.
Rathour praised Rohit for being highly skilled at sticking to his strategy and described him as a very clever and insightful tactician. He highlighted his sharp cricketing mind despite occasional forgetfulness in other areas.
“Rohit Sharma might forget whether he’s decided to bat or bowl at toss, or his phone and iPad in the team bus, but he never forgets his gameplan. He’s very good at it and is a very shrewd tactician,” Vikram Rathour said in an episode of ‘Find a way with Taruwar Kohli’ podcast.
The Indian captain has often been the point of hilarious attention for his lazy and forgetful nature. There have been moments where he has forgotten what to do after winning the toss. It happened during a game against New Zealand with Tom Latham on the other side beside him.
Moreover, in many conversations and interactions, he forgets what to say and resorts to some hilarious words. Even Kohli during his interaction at Breakfast with Champions show, described Sharma as the most forgetful cricketer in the team. He highlighted that once Rohit forgot to bring the passport from hotel and recalled it after arriving at the airport.
