Who is Darius Visser? - The man who smashed 39 runs in an over and broke Yuvi's record

Darius Visser created a new record of smashing 39 runs in a single over during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A event on Tuesday. It is now the highest number of runs scored in a single over in T20I cricket, breaking Yuvraj Singh‘s record in the process.

The bowler, Nalin Nipiko, bowled three no balls in the over. Visser smashed three consecutive sixes in the first three deliveries of the over. He followed it up with yet another sensational six in the fourth delivery of the over. Nipiko bowled a dot ball on the fifth delivery of the over. However, that did not stop Visser from creating the record.

He went on to hit a big six on the third no-ball of the over and then smashed another six to score 39 runs in a single over. He also became the first player from Samoa to achieve this record and also smash a T20I century.

His innings consisted of 14 sixes and was 4 less than the highest number hit by a single batter in a T20I innings. Visser smashed 132 runs from just 62 deliveries.
