Karthik has played with Virat Kohli in the Indian Cricket Team and also for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Karthik paid tribute to Kohli for his epic 16 years in international cricket with a lovely post on social media on 18th August.

Karthik said that he was happy to play with Kohli and called him as the skipper. He captioned his post as Happy to have played with you Skipper, 16 years and the fire still burns bright,

Karthik was part of the 2019 ODI World Cup in England and Wales when Virat Kohli was the captain of the Indian Cricket Team. He has also been part of the RCB squad when Kohli was the team’s captain.

Karthik announced his retirement from the IPL after the end of the IPL 2024. In the last few years, Karthik has transformed himself into a fantastic finisher who comes to the crease at the back end of the innings and can give an explosive finish to the team’s innings.

Despite making his debut in 2004, he has not got a consistent inclusion in the Indian Cricket Team due to the emergence and successful career of MS Dhoni and also for Karthik’s inconsistent performances. Now, he is shining as a commentator for his insightful presentation on Sky Sports.
