Jharkhand skipper, Ishan Kishan, was seen bowling some off-spin during the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament in Chennai. It was a rare sight as Kishan is primarily a wicket-keeper batter. Hyderabad was looking to get a good lead on Day 2 as Jharkhand did not score much while batting.
With the scoreline reading 207/7 in 64 overs, Kishan decided to roll his arms over and bowl off-spin. He tried to deceive the batter with his flight and turn. The southpaw gave away just 5 runs in his two overs. However, it was not enough to give Jharkhand any advantage. As far as the result is concerned, Hyderabad beat Jharkhand by 9 wickets.
Meanwhile, the fans loved Ishan Kishan bowling off-spin. Here’s a look at the video of the same:
Kishan did not perform well with the bat during the match. He scored just one run in the first innings and just 5 runs in the second innings. Jharkhand batters did not get going in both the innings and that was the main reason behind their humiliating loss.
Ishan Kishan aims to make his return to the national team
At the start of the year, Kishan was dropped from BCCI’s central contract. He skipped the Test series against South Africa at the end of 2023, citing mental fatigue. Then he skipped the domestic games and began preparing for the IPL 2024.
This did not sit well with the selectors and BCCI made it absolutely clear that central contracted players do need to give importance to domestic cricket.

Kishan geared up to participate in Buchi Babu International tournament for Jharkhand and performed well with the bat against Madhya Pradesh. He scored a century and helped in Jharkhand’s victory in that game.
Meanwhile, coming to the aforementioned game, skipper Ishan Kishan won the toss against Hyderabad and elected to bat first. However, Jharkhand got all-out for just 178 runs on the board. Hyderabad, in reply, managed to post 293 runs in their first innings.
In their second essay, Jharkhand, once again, faltered, managing to score just 140 runs. Hyderabad scored 26 runs needed to win in their second innings in just 4 overs.
