He feels happy that he has represented India for a long time and does not feel sad that he won’t be part of the Indian Cricket Team anymore.
“It’s important to turn the page to move forward in life and that’s why I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket. I am leaving with peace in my heart that I played for so long for India. I tell myself not to feel sad that you will not play for India anymore, but to feel happy that you played for your country,” Dhawan said in a video message.
Dhawan has been one of the top 8 batters who have scored over 5000 runs in ODI cricket with an average over 40 and strike rate of over 90. He has been sensational for India in ICC ODI tournaments and was an integral part in India’s win in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
