Shahid Afridi, recently, criticized the Pakistan team as they lost the opening Test against Bangladesh. Afridi was last seen in the World Championship of Legends 2024, playing for Pakistan Champs and taking them into the finals.

Shahid Afridi raised his voice on poor form of the Pakistan team and their disappointing performance in the longest format of the game. He identified the mistake of having formed a team of four pace bowlers, despite forming a pitch that would favour, otherwise. He raised questions over why there was no specialist spinner in the team.

“A 10-wicket defeat raises serious questions about the decision to prepare this type of pitch, select four fast bowlers and leave out a specialist spinner. This to me clearly shows a lack of awareness about home conditions. That said, you cannot take the credit away from Bangladesh for the brand of cricket they played throughout the Test,” the former Pakistan allrounder said in a Tweet.

While celebrating a new generation within his family, he actively engages in criticizing the PCB and the Pakistan Cricket team over their humiliating 10-wicket loss. He also lauded the Bangladesh team for the stunning cricket they displayed over the five days of the game at Rawalpindi.
