Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been the two integral players for the Indian Cricket Team, over the last decade. They have been mainstays and regular feature in the national team.
It hasn’t been common sight watching them play in domestic tournaments. However, there were reports that both of them will play in the upcoming Duleep Trophy ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh, starting from September 19. However, the management decided to give them rest along with Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah. But, do you know when was the last time when both of them played Duleep Trophy?
Interestingly, Indian captain Rohit Sharma last featured in Duleep Trophy in 2016. He turned up for the India Blue under the current head coach, Gautam Gambhir in a game against Red in Greater Noida. He batted at number 4 in the first innings and scored 57-ball 30. In the second innings, he batted at number 3 and scored 32 off 75.
He has featured in Duleep Trophy only twice before that. He was present in the West Zone squad in 2010/11 season but did not get to play a game. However, he played for West Zone in 2009/10 and managed to score a hundred and a half century against North Zone.
Virat Kohli, on the other hand, played Duleep Trophy only twice in his career and he featured in the tournament for the last time in 2010. He was the skipper of the North Zone in 2009/10 and scored a half-century against West Zone. Kohli was also part of the North Zone squad in 2008/9 season but did not get to play any game.
