Big brother Sarfaraz lept in joy as his younger brother Musheer Khan scored a sensation ton on the opening day of the Duleep Trophy tournament on Thursday. Fans called it a heartwarming gesture of brotherhood and pride.

Musheer Khan, the 19-year-old Mumbai batter, made his debut in the Duleep Trophy for India B. India B made a forgettable start as every big player underperformed, or rather performed miserably. However, Musheer took on the responsibility on his shoulders and played a significant part in their innings revival.

After a struggling 96/7, Musheer’s ton led the team to a 202/7 at stumps on Day 1. Khan himself scored a stunning 105* while batting with the no. 9 Navdeep Saini.

He notched off a single against Kuldeep that led him to his hundred. As he reached his ton, Sarfaraz, who was sitting in the first row, jumped with his arms raised high in the air. Here’s a look at the video of that special moment:

To this video going viral, a fan responded, “Well played, Champ,” while a bunch of them wrote, “A proud big brother.” With a hundred made by one, the reception has been warm on the fan’s end for both brothers.

The Duleep Trophy saw all four teams and players from their side take on each other with hopes of performing well to find themselves among the India 11 as they look to finalize a squad for their upcoming hectic Test match schedule.

Day 1 has not been up for batters on both tracks of Chinnaswamy and the Anantapur, as both teams’ top, as well as middle orders, collapsed before lunch on Day 1.

The Team B batter Musheer Khan batted diligently and with extreme composure, as he landed his first Duleep Trophy century on the very day of his debut, though Saini is also to be praised for his well-made 29*, which too needed firm resilience.

While, for Team D, the entire batting unit could not even score more than 80 runs. Axar Patel, the star Indian all-rounder, was seen as the lone warrior in their innings as he scored 86 runs and, thereby, guided the team to a respectable score.

Axar also played a significant role with the ball. After Harshit Rana removed the two openers in skipper Gaikwad and Sudarshan, Axar picked two wickets, that removed Juyal and then Rajat Patidar.
