On 5th September 2024, Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja posted a birthday wish for his wife and BJP MLA, Rivaba Jadeja on her 34th birthday. He posted a photo of him with Rivaba with the caption,
“Achha toh aaj aapka birthday hai wahh! [Ah, so today is your birthday, wow!] Wish you a wonderful day and year ahead! #ghar_ke_minister.”

Jadeja last featured on the cricket field in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2024. The all-rounder did not have a satisfactory tournament and hence announced his retirement from T20Is after India won the final. Jadeja has been part of 74 T20Is for India, scoring 515 runs and picking 54 wickets. He was also not picked up in the squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Ravindra Jadeja to continue as a mainstay of the Indian Test team
Jadeja is expected to be back in the Indian squad for the Test series against Bangladesh, starting from September 19. Meanwhile, he was also selected in the India B squad for the Duleep Trophy but was released from the squad without revealing the reasoning behind it.
Jadeja’s wife is a BJP MLA in the Jamnagar seat of Gujarat. Jadeja himself has joined the BJP party after Rivaba. Meanwhile, Jadeja’s father and his sister has joined the Congress Party in 2019.
Ravindra Jadeja has featured in 72 Test matches for India. He has scored 3036 runs, 4 centuries and has scalped 294 wickets. Moreover, in 197 ODIs, he has scored 2756 runs and picked 220 wickets.
Jadeja continues to be a mainstay of the Indian Test team. His bowling and batting both will be crucial in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand at home. Jadeja will also be the mainstay of the team in the border-Gavaskar series, later this year, if India goes on to play one spinner in the line-up.
