IND vs BAN: Indian Cricket Team is set to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series starting from September 19 in Chennai. BCCI has already announced the squad for the first Test.
Virat Kohli is back in the team after missing the last 5-match Test series against England at the start of the year due to the birth of his son.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will be leading the team. Both of them were last seen in the 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka which India lost 2-0.
Meanwhile, on September 13, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have arrived in Chennai to feature in the first Test match.
The Indian captain was seen wearing a yellow jersey and coming out of the airport surrounded by security personnel. Kohli on the other hand landed in Chennai directly from London in an early morning flight.
Indian Cricket Team to face Bangladesh in the first Test in Chennai
The other players have already reached Chennai. Many of them were part of the first round of the Duleep Trophy.
The series will finally commence for India after a one and half month break. Indian Cricket Team have been dominant in Test cricket at home. However, they need to be on their toes as they will be facing a Bangladesh side which beat Pakistan 2-0, comfortably away from home.
After the T20 World Cup 2024, Rahul Dravid moved away from the Head Coach spot and Gautam Gambhir became India’s new Head Coach.
The team won the T20I series 3-0 but lost the ODI series 2-0 against Sri Lanka. The home Test series against Bangladesh will be the first Test series for India under the new head coach, Gautam Gambhir.
India will now have a busy Test schedule with a 2-match Test series against Bangladesh and 3-match Test series against New Zealand at home. Then, they will travel to Australia for a 5-match Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
