The National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru was under construction for a long period, and the BCCI has finally made the announcement of its inauguration on the 28th of September.

The Board of Cricket Control for India secretary, Jay Shah, announced on Monday that the unique facility is all set to be inaugurated on Sunday, that is, September 28th. He informed this via email to the members of the State Association.

“I hope this message finds you well. It is our pleasure to extend an invitation to you for the much-anticipated inauguration of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, India, on 28th September 2024,” Shah’s email read.

The latest built playing facility will include three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, Olympic-sized pools to swim, indoor cricket pitches, recovery grounds, sports science facilities and the uniquely made state-of-the-art training facility, as this would emerge as India’s next-generation sporting gem.

This has been one of the most unique initiatives taken by the BCCI, one of India’s most promising sports associations, to enhance sporting facilities in the nation.

“Your support in this ground-breaking project has been most valuable, and we sincerely hope that you can spare some time from your busy schedule and grace us with your presence.” Shah concluded his mail with a token of appreciation for their association members.

The current BCCI secretary emerged as the youngest ever to have been elevated to a position as high as that of the ICC Chairman. He will resume his duties with the International Cricket Council on the 1st of December.

He will replace the likes of Greg Barclay, who served in his second term from 2020 but refused to contest for the third time; hence, Shah claimed the position totally unopposed.

During the interviews that followed his appointment as the ICC chairman, he made tall claims and showed very positive intent in acquiring immense talent worldwide and also considering red ball cricket’s promotion to a higher extent.

Jay Shah is the fifth from India to have been placed as the ICC Chairman after the first from the nation into that position was the great Jagmohan Dalmiya, followed by the likes of Sharad Pawar, Shashank Manohar, and N. Srinivasan.

The name of former Union Minister Lt. Arun Jaitley’s son and Delhi Cricket Association President, Arun Jaitley, has emerged as one of the most likely candidates to succeed Jay Shah as the BCCI secretary.
