Watch: Virat Kohli hugs Gautam Gambhir after Test series win vs Bangladesh

Indian Cricket Team scripted a 2-0 series win against Bangladesh at home after registering an incredible victory in the second Test at the green Park Stadium in Kanpur.

This was the first test series for the new Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir. The fact of his strategy was clearly seen as India gave it all to win the second Test after two half days were washed out due to rain.

After the triumph, when Virat Kohli was going back to the pavilion, he shared a hug with the head coach, Gambhir.

Kohli and Gambhir have been part of many memorable partnerships when they played together but they have also been involved in many intense verbal altercations.

However, after Gambhir became Team India’s new head coach, it was made clear by him that both of them share the same mindset and they will work together to make Team India win series and titles.

India were sensational in the series against Bangladesh and won it 2-0

Now, coming to the game, Team India’s bowlers bowled out Bangladesh for 233 runs on the morning of Day 4.

Then the Indian batters came out firing, played their shots and played in T20 style. They scored 285 runs in 34.4 overs and declared their innings.

On the morning of Day 5, India dismissed Bangladesh for 146 runs and got a target of 95 runs to chase. The batters chased down the target in just 17.2 overs and displayed why India are a force to be reckoned with on home soil in Test cricket.

The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma was very happy and talked about the win in the post-match presentation.

Hereโ€™s what he had to say:

“We all keep going. Obviously at some stage we had to start working with different personnel. When Rahul bhai said he was done being here – we had a fantastic time but life moves on. We all have to move on. Gautam Gambhir, I’ve played with him and know what sort of mindset he comes in with and allows players to go and play the way they want to play. Early days but it’s been a good start. We had to think a lot about how the game can keep moving forward.”

Meanwhile, the T20I series between these two sides begins on 6th October 2024.
