However, some recent reports emerged that Shami has picked up a knee swelling again and might miss the Border-Gavaskar series. However, today, Shami has himself hit out against the rumours on ‘X’. He called the reports out as baseless rumours and revealed that he is trying his best to be fit.
He also stated that neither him nor the BCCI have said that he is out of the Border-Gavaskar series. So, he asked everyone to stop paying attention to the news from unofficial sources. He also asked everyone to stop peddling fake news.

“Why these type of baseless rumors? I’m working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and donโt spread such fake fake fake & fake news, especially without my statement.“
Earlier, Shami stated in an interview, that he is looking to make his comeback soon as he has been out of action for a long time. However, he also added that he wants to be fit fully, so that he does not have any problems when he makes his comeback to cricket.
He does not want to rush and take the risk of getting injured again after making his comeback. Shami is expected to be a vital part of India’s fast bowling arsenal in Australia.
