Former India cricketer and current commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar, has said that Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill have to rise to the occasion and take responsibility.
He feels that the veterans, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not playing at their prime form in the twilight of their careers and hence, the youngsters have to take responsibility now. He feels that only Rishabh Pant is at the prime stage of his career.
Sanjay Manjrekar said:
“Virat & Rohit,both are not in their prime, they are not at the peak of their powers to be fair and Yashasvi Jaiswal & Shubman Gill have to rise to the occasion. Rishabh Pant is the only one that I feel is in his prime and a very important.”

Jaiswal has been sensational as an opener right from the time he opened the innings for India in Test cricket. He has formed a very good partnership with the Indian captain and Shubman Gill. Meanwhile, he has been allotted the new number three position in Test cricket.
Gill has slowly coming to his own and has made the place his own in the last two Test series against England and Bangladesh.
Rishabh Pant has been in prime form and a game changer in Test cricket. He lost one and half years of his career due to injury.
However, he was right back at his best in his comeback series in Test cricket against Bangladesh. India have two overseas tours lined up with a five match Test series against Australia and England. The three players will have a big part to play in India’s success.
