Sarfaraz Khan

Indian rising red-ball star Sarfaraz Khan has been the talk of the town after he scored his stunning hundred in the third inning at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

This inning played by Sarfaraz remains the epitome inning in the history of the game, as after a duck in the first inning, he has rebounded with a stellar inning. Khan was brought into the Indian side after Shubman Gill, India’s natural no. 3, was replaced from the Indian team owing to his injury.

Khan was promoted up the order at no. 4 than the lower batting order position, which was given to Sarfaraz Khan in the England series. After his hundred, he took off to a hilarious celebration, which made a stir of laughter in the dressing room.

Khan hit a boundary off Southee to reach the milestone of his maiden Test hundred in just 110 deliveries, as he reached the hundred with a strike rate of 90. He hit the ball and lifted his arms aloof while he leapt into the air.

He splurged with happiness and pointed his bat towards the Indian dressing room as he roared with delight and bulged his teeth out, a sight worth laughter for the players in the dressing room.

Kiwi legend and arguably the best bowler from New Zealand, Tim Southee has several records to his name with the ball in hand.

Now, Southee, who recently stepped down as the Kiwi red-ball skipper, has achieved a huge milestone in his Test career. Tim Southee is now the batter with the sixth-most sixes in red-ball cricket, surpassing Virender Sehwag.

Southee, who came into bat when New Zealand were struggling at 233/7, launched his attack on Indian bowlers. He, along with Rachin Ravindra, managed a 135-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Southee scored a quickfire 50 off just 52 balls, in which he hit 3-sixes to take his total tally to 93 sixes in Test cricket.

With that, he also surpassed Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who has now increased his tally of sixes to 88. Rohit is still in sight of Sehwag’s all-time record for most sixes for the Indian team in Tests.
