Watch: Rohit Sharma and Co. have heated interactions with on field umpires after the end of Day 4 in Bengaluru

Indian captain, Rohit Sharma along with his players were involved in a heated exchange with the infield umpires at the fag end of the Day 4 in the first Test between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru after the on field umpires called it quits early due to bad light.

New Zealand had 107 runs to chase in the fourth innings and the conditions were overcast. It was going to be a tricky little phase for the batters as the ball was going to swing, given the conditions. However, due to the early call of play, the Indian captain and the players were frustrated.

This happened after Team India were bowled out for 462 runs in the second innings after having a lead of 106 runs. India were bowled out for just 46 in the first innings and conceded a lead of 356 runs after New Zealand’s batting in the first innings.

IND vs NZ: New Zealand need 107 runs to win the first Test

However, the Indian top order batters showed terrific display against all odds and put together a sensational comeback in the second innings. Sarfaraz Khan played a terrific knock of 150 runs, Rishabh Pant got out on one short of century. Virat Kohli returned to form with a 70-run knock. Earlier, Rohit Sharma provided a handy start with a 52-run knock.

However, they were poised to get a much better lead. As soon as the second new ball was taken by the Kiwis, things changed as the Indian batters lost their last 7 wickets for just 54 runs.

It is going to be a tough task for the Indian bowlers to restrict the Kiwi batters on Day 5. However, the pitch still has something for the new ball and also rough patches for the spinners. The Indian bowlers need to make things happen right from the morning if they need to have any chance to have a glimmer of hope to get an unlikely win.
