England’s limited overs captain, Jos butler, and India’s veteran spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, had a hilarious interaction on social media, recently.
Both these players have been part of the same franchise, Rajasthan Royals, for some time in the IPL. Hence, both of them share a lovely and close bond.
Chahal is currently playing in the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy. Chahal, though not known for his batting, scored 48 runs from 152 balls against Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy and was not able to reach his maiden half-century.
During his innings, the leg spinner managed to hit six boundaries. Chahal posted some pictures of him with the bat and padded up during the innings, on social media.
Buttler quickly equated to the photo and commented, “Batting? How many runs?” . Chahal replied back and said: ““48😁💪🏻.”
Jos Buttler to be back on the tour of West Indies; Yuzvendra Chahal sidelined
Buttler has missed the recent limited overs series against Australia due to injury. He is set to return back for England in the upcoming tour of West Indies.
Meanwhile, Chahal has been out of the India setup for quite some time. He had been an integral part of the limited overs side for quite some years but now finds himself sidelined for the team.
He has displayed his performances in the IPL and is likely to be retained by Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction.
Chahal is recognized for his ability to adapt and innovate with his leg-spin, often using variations in flight and pace to deceive batsmen.
His approach to bowling, especially in T20 cricket, has been about not just containing runs but constantly looking to take wickets.
His performance over the years, especially in the IPL, underscores his consistency. Reaching 200 wickets in the IPL showcases not just his skill but his consistent delivery over numerous seasons across different conditions.
