Indian uncapped fast bowler, Harshit Rana has often grabbed headlines following his stupendous outing with KKR in IPL 2024. Recently, he has been added to the Indian team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. In a recent interview, he shared that he loves bowling to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the nets.
“I love bowling to Virat Kohli bhaiya & Rohit Sharma bhaiya in the nets because they bat with the same intent in nets like they do in a match. So there is no scoop for you to make a mistake or to bowl ordinary to them“. Rana told TOI.
“I spoke to Virat Kohli bhaiya and Rohit Sharma bhaiya, they just told me to focus on my length and I am trying the same here and it has helped me.” he added.
Harshit Rana also disclosed about his bond with fellow pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj in the Indian camp.
“Recently when I was with the Indian team, I used to keep talking to Jassi and Siraj bhaiya that if someday I get a chance to play there [in Australial, what should I do and what should I not do, which length will be right there and which is not. I have got an idea of all these things from both the bowlers and talking to them has helped me a lot”, he revealed.
Harshit Rana displayed his magnificent all-round performance in Ranji Trophy
Harshit Rana, representing Delhi in the Ranji Trophy, delivered an outstanding all-round performance in their group stage match against Assam. He proved his worth among the fans and justified why is he a future prospect for team India.
Rana bowled a perfect spell of 5 wickets conceding 80 runs, taking the wickets of Rishav Das, Subham Mandal, Abhishek Thakuri, Swarupam Purkayastha, and Mrinmoy Dutta. He also played a magnificent knock of 59 runs in just 78 balls, scoring 4 fours and 3 sixes.
The pacer is expected to be retained by Kolkata Knight Riders’ franchise before the 2025 IPL mega auction.
