Pakistan Cricket are in a turmoil despite the win in the series against England at home. Fakhar Zaman, the explosive batter, in limited overs cricket for Pakistan, has been dropped from the central contract by PCB on account of protesting against Babar Azam’s exclusion from the Test squad.
Zaman, in his tweet, stated that the drop of Pakistan’s premier batter will send a wrong message and he also compared Azam’s situation to Virat Kohli’s poor form between 2020 and 2022. He called out that the BCCI and the Indian fans supported Kohli at that stage but PCB has not supported Azam in his lean patch.

During a press conference ahead of Pakistan team’s departure for the series against Australia, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi opened up on the decision to drop Zaman from the central contract. Naqvi stated that tweet was definitely one of the issue behind Fakhar’s snub but his fitness is also a point of concern for the PCB.
“Tweet was one issue, but the bigger matter was that of fitness. There is a show-cause notice pending against him, and we will see about that. He would need to prove his fitness, his point of view was valued in the Connection Camp and I am very thankful to him for that but you cannot go around commenting on the selection committee over selection calls. But ya, the bigger issue is of selection,” Mohsin Naqvi said in the press conference.
Mohsin Naqvi also announced Muhammad Rizwan as the new captain of the white ball side and named Salman Ali Agha as the vice-captain of the team. Meanwhile, Fans have been reacting strongly to Fakhar Zaman’s drop from the central contract.
