Indian middle-order batter, Shreyas Iyer has impressed everyone with his form and class during the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy. He is making a huge statement, after getting dropped from the Test squad of Indian cricket team.

Iyer played a massive inning against Maharashtra, scoring 142 runs on 190 balls, including 12 fours and 4 sixes. It had been nearly three years, 38 innings, and several surgeries since Shreyas Iyer last scored a first-class century. His last red-ball hundred came on his Test debut against the New Zealand side in 2021 at Kanpur.

Following his century, he went on to score a double century against Odisha in just 201 balls, featuring 22 fours and 8 sixes. Iyer scored a total of 233 runs on 228 balls, with a strike rate of over 102. His excellent knocks have revived his hopes of making a comeback to the Indian Test team.

This is also a significant knock for his career, as he will be in the spotlight on November 24 for the IPL 2025 mega auction. His impressive form could make him a sought-after player in the auction, potentially securing him a lucrative deal for the upcoming IPL season.

During the second test between Australia A and India A, the visitors were dismissed on a total of 161 runs at the MCG. Experienced pacer Michael Nesser, ripped apart the India batting lineup by clinching 4 wickets in 13 overs conceding 27 runs.

Dhruv Jurel, the young Indian wicketkeeper displayed a positive intent by playing a great knock in tough conditions at MCG against Australia A. He scored 80 runs on 186 balls, and was the only one to reach his fifty. Devdutt Padikkal was the second highest scorer of the side scoring 26 runs off 55 balls faced.
