The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma did not get going in the Pink ball warm-up game against Prime Minister’s XI on December 1. The Indian captain missed out on the first Test match due to the birth of his baby boy.
So, this was his first chance to bat on Australian soil on this tour. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings in the first Test and they also opened up the innings against the Pink ball in this warm-up Test. So, it looks like the duo is also set to open the innings in the upcoming Adelaide Test starting on December 6.
Sharma came in to bat at number four and managed to score three runs from 11 deliveries before edging Charlie Anderson to wicketkeeper Oliver Davies. Rahul and Jaiswal put on a 201 runs partnership in the second innings of the first Test match. They also batted well in this warm-up Test match.

They stitched together a partnership of 75 runs for the opening wicket. Jaiswal scored 45 runs off 59 deliveries, Rahul retired himself on 27 runs off 44 deliveries. Shubman Gill, who missed out on the first Test due to a fractured thumb, retired himself on 50 runs off 62 deliveries. Nitish Kumar Reddy scored 42 runs off 32 deliveries.
In the first innings, Indian bowlers dismissed the PM XI for 240 runs. Mohammed Siraj scalped one wicket, Akashdeep picked up two wickets, Harshit Rana picked up four wickets, Prasidh Krishna picked up one wicket, Washington Sundar picked up one wicket and Ravindra Jadeja also picked up one wicket.
Ravichandran Ashwin did not bowl a single ball in the warm-up match along with Jasprit Bumrah. However, Bumrah was seen bowling at the nets against Virat Kohli. Kohli has still not come into bat in the warm-up game.
