During the group stage match between Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, UP skipper Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a magnificent performance by clinching a hat-trick for the team. In his first three overs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled 1 maiden and only conceded 6 runs in the next 2 overs of his spell. In the 17th over, he came to deliver his last over. Bhuvi dismissed Robin Minz (11), Bal Krishna (0), and Vivek Anand Tiwari (0) to clinch a hat-trick. He became the fourth bowler to record a hat-trick after Akash Madhwal, Shreyas Gopal, and Felix Alemao in this season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
