IND vs AUS: India dominated the Aussies in the opening test of the series, with Indian bowlers led by Jasprit Bumrah being the pick among the bowlers; however, this time around the Aussies have turned the tables to their end.
In the second match between India and Australia for the pink-ball test at Adelaide, the hometown hero Travis Head delivered a stunning century that blew off India’s most valiant pace attack.
Head scored a terrific 140 runs at a strike rate of 99.29, which seemed hectic for the Indian pacers to tackle, which also led to an ugly altercation between Head and Siraj after he got out.
Mitchell Starc was the pick among the Aussie pacers with the new ball as well as the old ball in the first Indian innings, as he struck for a 6-fer, which broke the back of the Indian batting order every time it looked to emerge from the shadows of struggle.
Starc bowled three spells, picking wickets in every spell, thus limiting the visitors to just 180 in their first innings, while the Aussies took a 157-run lead, followed by another display of carnage from the Australian bowlers.
Starc again made a good impact, picking the most sought wickets of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant; however, skipper Cummins remained the standout performer in the inning, with a 5-wicket haul that eventually restricted the Men in Blue to take a lead of only 18 runs in their second batting innings.
Scott Boland replaced injured Josh Hazelwood and yet delivered a fine performance in the match, with 5 wickets picked across the two innings of the game. Australia levelled the series with a 10-wicket victory in their final innings at Adelaide.
The Aussies will be taking this immense confidence off to the Gabba in Brisbane, while the Indians will also be wounded lions in the quest for a pouncing return as much action awaits in the BGT.
Indian fans are disappointed by their team’s unsatisfying performance at Adelaide
Clearly indicative of mixed reactions from fans, while some fans have shown their disregard for India due to their disappointing loss, some others have shown belief in the Indian side to bounce back in the series.
While some have also shown the spirit of sportsmanship, commenting on Australia’s stunning performance and have also shown a sense of competition, saying this is what we expect from the two leading test sides in the world.
