Australian veteran batter David Warner was seen opening the inning for the Sydney Thunder in today’s match against the Hobart Hurricanes.
During the incident, David Warner, the legendary left-handed batter, broke his bat from his handle when he mistimed an outside-the-stump ball against Riley Meredith. The pacer’s steaming full-length delivery took the handle off Warner’s bat as he held his grip tight and the ball hit the extreme bottom of his bat.
After Warner’s captaincy ban was taken off by Cricket Australia, he was given the role of leading the Sydney Thunder. The Thunder, who had to part ways with Bancroft recently, were in the buzz for having appointed their assistant coach, Dan Christian, back as their player.
Though after the incident, Warner was the sole architect of Thunder’s splendorous innings of 88 runs, as he posed a target of 165 runs, which was eventually chased by the Hobart Hurricanes, who climbed to the top position of the points table with the win over the Hurricanes.
Sydney Thunder eventually slipped down the points table to the third position behind the Sydney Sixers and the current table toppers, the Hobart Hurricanes.
