Indian cricket asset Virender Sehwag has reportedly been separated from his wife, Aarti Ahlawat, for months now, as the sword of divorce looms over the couple’s happy 20 years of marriage.
Some reports have also suggested that the Indian former cricketer and his wife have unfollowed each other from the social media platform Instagram, thus adding fuel to the fire of divorce speculations.
Married back in 2004, they had two sons together in 2007 and 2010, named Aryaveer and Vedant Sehwag. The speculations arose when Sehwag’s Diwali pictures did not include Aarti but only had his mother alongside the two kids in the frame.
Sehwag’s wife, Aarti Ahlawat, a middle-class woman from Delhi, Sehwag’s native land, has always kept a low profile, unlike the wives of many modern-day cricketers.

Falling back to the early 2000s, a few years after Virender Sehwag was picked in the Indian side under the leadership of Sourav Ganguly, the affair between the two began. Arun Jaitley, the then-president of the Delhi Cricket Association, was where the two tied the knot in a grand wedding in 2004.
Sehwag’s cricket career has seen several ups and downs; however, nothing has ever affected their personal or marital life. However, this strong bond seemed to have lightened, as the two have strained their relationship in recent times.
Sehwa, since his retirement in 2015, went on to serve as a member of the Anti-Coping Agency as well as the appeal panel. However, with the recent developments in the personal lives of cricketers and the supposed divorces of many cricketers like Chahal and Manish Pandya, Sehwag, who always kept a low profile, is also under scrutiny.
Neither of these two has confirmed anything or made any official statement about their speculated separation.
