Abhishek Sharma

Indian quirky batting all-rounder Abhishek Sharma has gained recent recognition as an explosive opening batter in the game’s shortest format. The Indian rising superstar idolizes former Indian great and his mentor Yuvraj Singh, as he also bats left-handed alongside being the slow left-handed orthodox spinner.

Abhishek first came under the radar of the national selectors when he played some swashbuckling innings for his IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad, who recognized him as a potent opener. Batting alongside Travis Head, Sharma often gave flying starts to his team.

Abhishek began the England series on a strong note, as he scored a quickfire 79 in a winning cause for India in the first T20I at the Eden Gardens. Since then, despite starts, Abhishek could not convert them to big totals, as he stepped up with a different motive when India batted first for the first time in the series at the Wankhede.

Inia’s new T20 mantra has relied on an all-out attack, and Abhishek is the perfect example of it, thus hitting 20 boundaries in his innings of 135 runs off just 54 balls, which included the 13 sixes he hit.
