Ajay Jadeja names the five players whom Rajasthan Royals will retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction

The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held at the end of the year. The BCCI has announced that franchises can retain a maximum of six players. Former India cricketer, Ajay Jadeja, feels that Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals’ captain will be the first retention of the team as he is the main player of the franchise. The Indian young opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, is another name that RR will want to keep hold of.

“There shouldn’t be too much change there (in RR). Sanju Samson is this team’s life, there is no doubt about that. You won’t want to leave Jaiswal. So these two are absolutely certain for me,” he said.

Ajay Jadeja backs Ashwin and Chahal to be retained by RR

Jadeja feels that RR should not release Ravichandran Ashwin given that he has been handy for the team in the IPL. Moreover, he feels that RR will also retain his spin bowling partner, Yuzvendra Chahal. He expressed surprised on how RCB let go of him despite good performances. He also added that Jos butler will be another retention from the franchise.

“How can you leave Ravichandran Ashwin? He has shown a revival in his career as well if you see the last three-year cycle. So I won’t leave him as well. I didn’t understand how RCB left Chahal. I am going with players, not about the amount at the moment. You won’t want to leave these four but Jos Buttler is also another player,” Jadeja observed.

Jaiswal, Samson and Buttler are the main batters of the side. Ashwin and Chahal take care of the spin bowling and are the main wicket-takers in the side. So, all in all, RR will definitely want to retain them ahead of the IPL 2024 auction.
