Indian pacer Akash Deep continued his sensational spell in the India A vs India B game in the Duleep Trophy. He took four wickets in the first innings and returned with a five wicket-haul in the second innings of the match. His bowling exploits gave some hope to India A to register win over India B. Courtesy of his spell, India B were bundled out for 184 runs from a great position of 140 for 4.
Akash Deep, earlier, returned with a stellar spell of 4 wickets for 6 runs in the first innings. He followed it up with 5 wickets for 56 runs in the second innings. He has definitely knocked on the ears of the selectors for a spot in the Test squad for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, starting from September 19.

He has already made his debut in the Test team against England in Ranchi at the start of the year. Deep was sensational in his debut as well, picking up 3 wickets for 83 runs. With his consistent performances in the domestic circuit, he is constantly knocking the doors of the selectors. India have a lot of Test matches to play as the year progresses.
They have a series against New Zealand. Then they have to travel to Australia to play a five-match Test series. India will need a lot of pacers to complement the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj.
Akash Deep has displayed that he needs to be on the flight to Australia. Moreover, India do have a 5-match Test series on the tour of England, next year. So, with Deep performing really well, India have more options in the pace bowling department in red ball cricket.
