An old Tweet of Shane Warne calling Gautam Gambhir as the Top 3 annoying cricketers in the world goes viral

There were a lot of expectations on Gautam Gambhir after he became the Head Coach of the Indian Cricket Team. He had successful stints as the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and then Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He took KKR to the title in IPL 2024. However, those expectations have suffered a hard blow after India got whitewashed at home 3-0 against New Zealand in the Test series.

It was the first defeat in home Test series for India in the last 12 years and the first time they got whitewashed in a Test series at home since the time that they started playing Test cricket. Gambhir and his team are receiving heavy criticism after this disastrous feat. India also suffered a defeat against Sri Lanka in an ODI series by a margin of 2-0 and it was the first time since 1997.

Now, ahead of the start of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 in Australia, an old tweet from Shane Warne on Gambhir has gone viral on X (formerly Twitter). Warne had tweeted back in 2013 and asked his followers if Gambhir is in the top 3 annoying cricketers in the world.

Gautam Gambhir will want to bring Indian Cricket Team back on track in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25

A large number of fans are sharing the old tweet from Warne, currently, and having a go at Gambhir. Under Gambhir, India did win the T20I series against Sri Lanka by a margin of 3-0, the Test series against Bangladesh at home by a margin of 2-0 and the T20I series against Bangladesh at home by a margin of 3-0.

Gambhir will be hoping to bring India back on track in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. India have to win four Test matches out of the five to have any chance of making it into the WTC final.

The team has won the last two Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia but this time around they are under a lot of pressure. The captain, Rohit Sharma, is expected to miss the first two Test matches in Perth and Adelaide due to personal reasons. In that case, Jasprit Bumrah might lead the team in his absence.
