Babar Azam

Pakistani veteran cricketer, who was once the most in-form and highest-scoring cricketer for the nation, Babar Azam has faced severe thrashing in recent times, with his form being a major concern.

The Pakistan team has announced the squad for the Zimbabwe and Australia white-ball tours, as Babar Azam is named for the Australia tour but is dropped from their tour to Zimbabwe.

The cricketer was recently dropped from the Test side, following his weak patch of form, as Azam was replaced by Kamran Ghulam for the second and third Test against England. Pakistan since then have turned their fortunes as they broke their losing streak with successive wins at home.

After this humiliating drop from Zimbabwe, many cricket fans as well as X users have trolled Babar over the issue.

“Zimbu dropped from Zimbabwe tour Shocking! Ab avg kaise badhayega Zimbu.” Such has been the reception of Babar over social media platforms, mocking his form with the bat.

“Zimbaber dropped from Zimbabwe series how?” commented another user, who mockingly referred to the veteran.

Often some fans went on to criticize Babar, saying he has restored his ICC rankings based on runs made against minor teams like Zimbabwe and Nepal.

“Hahaahah..abhi 100 runs kidhar aayenge” remarked a fan speculating over Babar’s centuries coming against minor teams.

While some humorous memes also went viral concerning Babar’s form.

Pakistan have been struggling with their form, as they have been in despair regarding their humiliating set of losses at home and away conditions.

After their disgusting form against Bangladesh, they lost the series by 2-0 to the minor team, while they also faced a crushing defeat in the first Multan test, where England players dominated massively.

The crucial yet heartbreaking decision to drop Babar Azam as well as the pace duo of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah, to include the likes of spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali, turned the revolutionary decision made in favour of Pakistan cricket.

The next two games featured centurion debutant Kamran Ghulam and Noman Ali, as well as Sajid Khan, who shared the 39 wickets in the next four games, as England got overpowered by their quality of spin for the Pakistan cricket team.

Shan Masood turned into the only Test captain for Pakistan to have led them to a series win for the first time in the last 3 years, though their chances in the WTC are highly diminished.
