AUS vs IND: Fans will get a full refund for the match tickets for day 1 of the Gabba Test due to THIS REASON

AUS vs IND: The excitement was in the air as it was time for the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 at the Gabba in Brisbane from December 14. However, the opening day of the Test match was washed out with incessant rain after just 13.2 overs. The series is tied at 1-1 after India won the first Test by 295 runs in Perth and Australia made a strong comeback by winning the pink ball Test by 10 wickets in Adelaide.

This Test was going to be the moving Test match in the series. India’s captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. There were two changes made in the team with Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja being included in the squad in place of Harshit Rana and Ravichandran Ashwin. Australia made one change with Josh Hazlewood returning back to the side in place of Scott Boland.

“We’re going to bowl first. Little bit overcast and little bit of grass, looks a bit soft as well, want to make best use of the conditions. Lot of cricket to be played, both teams have played good cricket in the last two games. Big game for us here, we’ll do what is expected of us. We’ll play good cricket, we understand we have to capture some moments, we didn’t do that in the previous game which is why we lost.

It’s absolutely buzzing, the guys are looking forward to the match, we’re looking forward to coming out here and playing. Looks a little soft at this point in time, conditions bit overcast as well, it will get better to bat as it goes on. We’ve made two changes, Jadeja and Akash back in place of Ashwin and Harshit”, said Rohit Sharma during the toss.

There were two rain breaks in the 13.2 overs that were bowled. When rain halted play for the second time, it was curtains for the day given that it was too heavy. Fans are set to get a 100 per cent refund as Cricket Australia has a policy which states that fans will get a full refund of match tickets for the day if less than 15 overs are bowled in the day or there has been no result recorded in the day in those overs. Australia are 28/0 in the 13.2 overs that were bowled. Usman Khawaja is batting on 19 runs off 47 balls and Nathan McSweeney is batting on four runs off 33 balls.
