As per recent reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking for a batting coach for the Indian Cricket Team to work under Gautam Gambhir. Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen replied on a post regarding this, showcasing his interest in working under Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir.
In a few recent series, the Indian team has faced significant challenges in the batting department, with key players failing to deliver consistent performances, leading to a lack of stability and runs on the scoreboard. This has led to increased pressure on the bowling attack and a lack of depth in the overall team performance, affecting their chances of winning crucial matches.
As of now, the Indian side has no specified batting coach in the camp, which has raised concerns about the team’s preparation and strategy in addressing their recent batting struggles. This gap in coaching expertise may hinder the development and improvement of the batsmen, especially during critical matches.
In addition to Gautam Gambhir, Abhishek Nayar, and Ryan Ten Doeschate serving as assistant coaches, Morne Morkel is responsible for the bowling department, while T Dilip oversees fielding. However, the absence of a dedicated batting coach remains a key area of concern for the team’s overall coaching structure.
Although there is no official communication or statement by the BCCI, various reports suggest that discussions between the team management and BCCI indicate the strengthening of the support staff.
