The former India all-rounder and the World Cup champion, Yuvraj Singh was born on December 12, 1981. The great all-rounder is ringing in his 43rd birthday, today. Singh started his cricket career at the age of 13 when he played his first match for the Punjab Under-16 team. He called it quits from cricket in June 2019.

One of the most incredible achievements in his cricket career was when he hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over during a T20 World Cup 2007 match between India and England at the Kingsmead in Durban. He became the first Indian cricketer to smash six sixes in an over.

The former Indian cricketer played 402 matches for India in international cricket in the period spanning between 2000 and 2007. He scored 11,178 runs at an average of 35.05 with 17 centuries and 71 half-centuries.

Yuvraj had some incredible trophy records in his national team career. He played for the Indian team which was the joint winner of the ICC Champions Trophy 2002 with Sri Lanka. He also won the T20 World Cup 2007 in South Africa and the ICC ODI World Cup 2011 in India. Yuvraj was also the Man Of The Tournament in the 2011 ODI World Cup for his all-round displays. He scored 362 runs in nine matches which included one century and four half-centuries. He also scalped 15 wickets and became the first cricketer to register a five-wicket haul and score a fifty in the same World Cup match.

Yuvi wore Jersey number 12. The jersey had special significance for his as he was born on the 12th day of the 12th month at 12 noon in sector 12. The all-rounder fought with cancer, defeated it and made a strong comeback to cricket. He last played for India in an ODI match against West Indies in 2017.
