Bowling Coach Morne Morkel Revisits Old Times, Joins India’s Net Session Ahead of Pune Test

Former South African fast bowler and current bowling coach of India, Morne Morkel was seen rolling his arm in nets ahead of the second test between India and New Zealand at Pune. BCCI shared a video in which the pacer was spotted bowling in the nets, marking his first time delivering a spell in nearly a year.

Morne Morkel was announced as India’s bowling coach after the recommendation of Gautam Gambhir.

Seeing the South African pacer rolling his arm generated sparks amongst his fans all around the world. As per reports, he was bowling to experienced Indian batter, KL Rahul. In the video, the 40-year-old acknowledged that he was careful while bowling, aiming to avoid the embarrassment of getting injured.

Gautam Gambhir Predicts Fewer Draws in Test Cricket Due to T20 Influence

In a recent press conference, Indian coach Gautam Gambhir was seen speaking about the fact that draws in a test match seem too boring, due to the Influence of T20 cricket all around the world.

He stated that,”draws are boring. With T20 cricket around, I don’t think we will see a lot of draw Test matches”.

Gautam Gambhir emphasized that the aggressive mindset instilled by T20 cricket is reshaping the approach to Test matches, making drawn games less likely. Captains thing about winning the game taking risks rather than playing it safe for a draw.
