Virat Kohli, the star Indian cricketer, not only is good looking but also carries a fascinating personality. He along with his wife, Anushka Sharma, has featured in many TV commercials and Kohli himself has also acted in many ad shoots of brands. However, casting director Mukesh Chhabra says that Kohli should not try out acting in movies after his retirement.
Mukesh Chhabra shared his thoughts about Virat Kohli during Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, praising Kohli as someone who could easily be a great actor due to his background as a Punjabi from Delhi. Chhabra admired how Kohli has managed success, staying strong in every aspect, from competition to fitness and mental well-being, all while enjoying life, like being a fan of chole bhature.
He highlighted Kohli’s humor, dancing, mimicking skills, and sharp comic timing. Despite these talents, Chhabra believes Kohli should stick to cricket and avoid films, even after retiring, noting that Kohli is genuinely smart but not cunning.
“He is already a great actor. He is from Delhi, he is a Punjabi. He has seen that life. He has handled success so beautifully. He has maintained himself on every level—competition, looks, fitness, mentally. He is a fan of Chole Bhature, he is a great guy. He is also so funny. He will dance, mimic, his comic timing is great,” Mukesh Chhabra said in Ranveer’s podcast.
“He is doing very well in making the country proud; he should stay where he is and not join films. He should not join films even after retiring from his cricket career. He is genuinely a smart guy, not a cunning one.” he added.

Kohli has reduced his workload after retiring from T20I cricket after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. He was back on the field for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
However, he faced a lot of issues against the crafty Sri Lankan spinners on turning tracks and did not score much in the series. Currently, he is spending time with his wife and children in London. He will be back for the Test series against Bangladesh, starting from September 19.
