Sarfaraz Khan, the talented young Indian batter, has scored heaps of runs in the domestic cricket in the red ball cricket. However, he was not getting his chances in the Test team for India. In the series against England, he finally got his debut and replied back with sensational half-centuries.
The shots that he played displayed what a talent that he has and the hard work that he has done in domestic cricket. In the first Test of the series against New Zealand in Bengaluru, Khan finally got his chance in the XI with Shubman Gill’s injury.
In the first innings, India were under pressure with the team getting all-out for 46 and Khan scored a duck. However, he replied back sensationally in the second innings with his maiden century under pressure. Sarfaraz scored 150 runs off 195 balls with 18 boundaries and three sixes. He displayed his talent and his wide repertoire of shots to get India out of trouble.
Former Australia opener, David Warner praised Sarfaraz Khan’s hard work after his century. Warner shared a story with the caption, “Raat ko waqt do guzarne ke liye. Sooraj apne hi samay pe niklega.” (Give the night some time to pass, the sun will rise in its own time). Warner added, “So much hard work. Awesome to see this,” acknowledging the years of effort that led to this moment.

New Zealand had a lead of 356 runs at the end of their first innings after scoring 402 runs. Team India replied back sensationally in the second innings courtesy of the innings from captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khana nd Rishabh Pant. At the time of writing, India are currently having a lead of 70 runs. It is turning out to be dangerous for the Kiwi team.
