Fans have mixed reactions after Jasprit Bumrah calls himself the fittest Indian cricketer instead of Virat Kohli

India’s fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, has attracted a bit of fan war after his recent reply on ‘Who is the fittest cricketer in the Indian Cricket Team.” Bumrah said that he will take his own name as it requires a lot of fitness to be a fast bowler and bowl on Indian pitches.

“I know the answer that you are searching for but I would like to say my name because I am a fast bowler,” Bumrah replied to the question ‘who was the fittest cricketer from India’.

“I’ve been playing for a while. Being a fast bowler and playing in this country in the heat takes a lot of requirement. So I’ll always promote fast bowlers and always take their name,” Bumrah further added.

Kohli is often known as the fittest cricketer in the world and not just the Indian cricket team due to the strict fitness regime and the diet that he maintains. He carries a sensational fan base as well. So, everyone would have expected Bumrah to take the name of the former Indian captain when asked that question.

Some social media fans have started to troll Bumrah claiming that the fast bowler has missed multiple important tournaments due to injury. It is to be noted that Bumrah missed the one and half years of cricket due to a back ailment.

However, another group of fans came to his support claiming that India would not have won multiple bilateral series and also the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 without the performances of Bumrah. The Indian fast bowler is currently the best bowler across all formats of the game. He was sensational in the T20 World Cup 2024 as well and won the Man Of The tournament for his exploits.

Jasprit Bumrah is set to return to the Indian team for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. He has been named in the squad for the first Test, starting on 19th September in Chennai.
