Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill

A recent interview of Sushant Mehta, the founder and CEO of Sportsyaari, with former cricketer Naman Ojha went viral, after the wicketkeeper picked Yashasvi Jaiswal over the likes of Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Abhishek Sharma.

Ojha talked about Jaiswal’s determination and attitude towards the game. He appreciated the young explosive batter by using phrases like sincere and hard-working. The former wicketkeeper also mentioned Ruturaj Gaikwad for his free-flowing batting and wide variety of shots. He called him unlucky due to lack of chances Ruturaj has been given for the Indian team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s consistent performances across formats have helped him cement his place in the national team. His aggressive yet technically sound batting has made him a valuable asset for India, and his dedication to improving his game has earned him recognition.

The young opener was disappointed with his batting performance in the first Test match against New Zealand at Bengaluru. He was seen practicing in the nets with his partner Shubman Gill.

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma appreciated the young lad and backed him to perform well in the Test series.

“He is somebody who wants to learn the game, learn about batsmanship. When a youngster comes into the team, his mindset is quite crucial”, he said.

Rohit also mentioned that Jaiswal’s presence in the team provides a unique advantage, considering he is a left-handed batsman.

Jaiswal is eager to achieve a century before heading to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With a growing reputation as a talented batsman, he aims to build momentum and confidence through a three-digit score in upcoming matches.
