Harbhajan Singh named the team that will be the biggest threat for Team India in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024

The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 for Women’s cricket is set to kick off on October 4 in UAE. Former India off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh named the team that can challenge India for the title. Singh said that Indian team needs to be wary of the challenge posed by Australia in the group that has New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka with these two teams.

“I think India needs to be very careful when playing against Australia. Looking at this group, India has Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. But one match that I think will be a little tough is the India-Australia match,” Harbhajan told Star Sports.

He called Australia as the threat even in subcontinent conditions in UAE which would not suit Australia as a team. However, he feels that Australia are a threat in any conditions in ICC tournaments and will be the biggest challenge for India in the tournament.

“Australia is a good team, even though these matches are being played in Dubai, on subcontinent pitches that might not suit them as much as their home conditions. But Australia, no matter where they play, are hard to beat. So, the biggest challenge for India may be Australia,” he said.

All about the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

Ten teams are vying for glory, split into two groups. Group A includes heavyweights like Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Over in Group B, you’ve got Bangladesh, England, Scotland (making their debut in this format), South Africa, and the West Indies. Each team plays everyone in their group, with the top two from each advancing to the knockout stages.

Australia comes in hot, not just as defending champions but aiming for their fourth consecutive title. That’s dominance for you! But every team’s got their eyes on that trophy, and cricket’s beauty lies in its unpredictability.

Team India will begin their campaign against New Zealand on Friday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
