Former Australian cricketer, Ricky Ponting unknowingly set the tone for an intense summer of cricket between India and Australia after remarks on Virat Kohli. India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir slammed the Australia, for his remarks by saying him to mind his own business and don’t question the form of Kohli.
In an interview, Ricky Ponting said that he is worried about the current form of Virat Kohli. He added that Virat too would be a little bit concerned about not scoring the same amount of runs or hundreds as he did in the previous years.
He concluded by saying, he saw a stat the other day about Virat Kohli, it mentioned that he only scored 3 Test hundreds in last 5 years. Ponting feels this isn’t right and is a matter of concern. This statement by Ponting questioned the form and ability of Virat Kohli in recent times.
After this, Gautam Gambhir came to a press conference and cleared all of it out. He stated,
“What does Ponting have to do with Indian cricket?, I think he should think about Australian cricket and more importantly have got no concerns for Virat and Rohit“.

“In no way was it a dig at Virat Kohli. He’s played well in Australia, he’s a class player. He will be keen to bounce back. But I was surprised to read the reactions of Gautam Gambhir, He is quite a prickly character & I’m not surprised it was him who said something back“.
