Every Indian fan is well aware of the peaks attained during Virat Kohli’s tenure as the Indian skipper. India attained their best-ever rankings in the longest format and were tagged the best Test side in the world for a pretty long period.

The Indian team won not only games but also different series in the SENA nations as skipper Kohli led from the front in tough conditions. It was under Kohli’s captaincy that India won their first Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Australian soil back in 2019.

Recently, Varun Dhawan, the Bollywood actor, claimed Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and Michael Jordan as his favourite sportsmen. While doing the same, he reflected on Virat Kohli’s psyche during the India vs England series, based on some facts heard from fellow cricketer’s wife Anushka Sharma.

Speaking on podcast,

‘The Ranveer Show,’ Dhawan explained: “Virat, I mean, everything he’s been through, the times he’s not been in good form, some insights that Anushka shared with me about his mindset.”

“I think it was a Nottingham Test,” added Dhawan. “Where India had lost, and she said she didn’t attend that game that day. She came back; she didn’t know where Virat was, and she came to the room and saw him laid down, literally crying.” ‘He took the whole thing on himself…’

Though Dhawan might have mixed up the likely Test match, he continued praising the former Indian skipper, saying how he took the load off his team despite being the highest scorer just because the team underperformed under his leadership.

Virat Kohli, who faced a serious dip in form in Test cricket, failed to make any mark even in the home series against the Black Caps, as he ended the series with less than 100 runs and also a fifty while averaging less than 10.

After facing some serious criticism, Virat Kohli bounced back during the second innings of the Perth Test, the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He was another anchor of India’s comeback alongside centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal.

While Virat scored his 30th Test hundred, almost after a gap of nearly three years, fans took a sigh of relief, hoping for his comeback to form. But since then, Kohli has failed to reach a double-digit score in the next three innings that followed. Now with his current average, he is among the third-lowest on the list of players with the least average among players with 9000 Test runs.
