In the recent CEAT awards, skipper Rohit Sharma was questioned about his process of bat selection and kit bag packing. He replied by saying he is not among those who have preferences with the bat.

The host had a wholesome entertaining session with the Indian skipper as she asked in a very joyous manner what his procedure was for selecting a perfect bat or how he packs and rolls his bagpacks before games. She also remarked that probably Ritika Sajdeh would have an idea about what the player does with his kit bags.

The captain jokingly remarked that he had the fewest bats among all the team members and pointed his finger towards his wife (Ritika) while saying that she didnโ€™t know that as she was not the one who went to the dressing room with him.

Rohitโ€™s comments sparked a splurge of laughter in the room, in which he stated that he has seen many players who are actually sensitive about how their bat would be, with stickers, how would be the outlook of the bat, and what would be its weight as well. However, he made himself stand apart from them, as he mentioned that while going in to bat, he just picks one among many, and if he just finds the balance fine, then he is good to go.

The Indian skipper retired from T20Is after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup as their best possible batter. Rohit Sharma was awarded as the Best Men’s international cricketer in the CEAT Awards for his all round excellence across all formats.

However, in the remaining two formats, the ODIs and the Tests, Rohit is currently Indiaโ€™s best-ranked batter, as he is placed right next to Babar Azam in the limited overs format, while he is placed sixth in the longest format, right behind Steven Smith, who might be threatened if Sharma excels in the upcoming red ball tours.

A red ball series awaits Sharma, as Rohit will next be seen in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, after which he will next look at the New Zealand home series and Indiaโ€™s away tour to Australia for the much anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
