Ahead of the Gabba Test between India and Australia, Ravindra Jadeja has been included in the playing XI, replacing Washington Sundar. Former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar has voiced strong support for Ravindra Jadeja’s selection. He stated Jadeja as India’s best spin option in overseas conditions.

Ravindra Jadeja has been crucial for India in overseas conditions, consistently delivering with both bat and ball. His ability to adapt to different pitches, contribute valuable runs in the lower order, and provide breakthroughs with his accurate spin bowling makes him a key player in the team.

Sanjay Bangar, who was a part of the Indian dressing room as a batting coach, backed the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s inclusion for the Brisbane Test. While commentating on Day 1 of the Brisbane Test at the Gabba, Bangar highlighted how India had felt the absence of Jadeja’s all-round skills in the first two matches.

Sanjay Bangar stated, “He (Jadeja) has always been the first choice spinner in overseas conditions, and that’s where India has won a lot of overseas test matches in recent times, and I was a little bit surprised that maybe the team management would have gotten swayed away by the performances of Washington Sundar in the previous test series against New Zealand, but those conditions were totally different. I’m glad that they resorted to someone like Jadeja, who may not have to do a lot of work in the first inning. His record as a batter also helps the team get useful runs in the lower order of the innings as well, which has been significant in helping one win overseas matches.”

In the third Test match between India and Australia at the Gabba, the visitors won the toss and decided to bowl first in what was a highly anticipated contest. The decision was aimed at exploiting the early conditions to put pressure on the Australian batting lineup.

The Indian bowlers started strong, putting the Australian batsmen under early pressure, but rain disrupted the momentum, allowing only 13 overs to be bowled on Day 1. The weather delay dampened India’s plans to capitalize on the conditions, leaving the game evenly poised heading into Day 2.
