IND vs BAN: India break their own record to score the fastest team hundred in Test cricket

IND vs BAN: India put on a batting masterclass on day 4 of the second Test match against Bangladesh at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Only 35 overs were bowled in the first day as rain intervened and then the next two days were also washed out by rain.

However, India bowled really well on the morning of Day 4 and restricted Bangladesh to 233 runs. Then came the show of intent and the batting onslaught from the Indian batters.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal took the attack to the Bangladeshi bowlers and scored the fastest half century scored by a team in Test cricket. His team also went on to score the fastest hundred scored by any team in Test cricket by bringing up the century for the team in 10.1 overs.

IND vs BAN: Indian batters were on a rampage

The Indian Cricket team broke their own record and Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were responsible for breaching this record. India declared their innings at the score of 285/9. Jaiswal scored 72 runs off 51 deliveries, Virat Kohli scored 47 runs off 35 balls, and KL Rahul scored 68 runs off 43 balls. At the end of Day 4, Bangladesh are 26-2 at the end off 11 overs and are still trailing by 26 runs.

At the end of Day 4, Ravindra Jadeja expressed his delight on reaching 300 wickets.

It’s special (300 Test wickets). I’ve been playing Test cricket since 10 years and I’ve finally reached this milestone. Feeling proud of myself. Always happy and excited whenever I wear the Indian jersey.

As a youngster I started in white ball cricket. Everyone used to say I’m a white-ball specialist. Gradually I improved my game and it has paid off in the last few years. When I go for batting, I always look to give myself some time and understand the situation. I react to the ball and play my shots. We batted very well. Whatever we planned, we batted accordingly. Hopefully we get them out as early as possible.” he shared.

There is only one day left in the Test match and a win for India is definitely a possibility. India need to come with the same intent and hopefully bag a win and, thereby, fetch important WTC points.
