IND vs NZ: Rohit Sharma talks about the challenges that New Zealand will present Team India with

Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, attended the pre-match press conference ahead of the start of the three match Test series against New Zealand with the first Test starting on October 16 in Bengaluru.

Sharma talked about the challenge that New Zealand will be presenting. He stressed on the fact that different teams give a new challenge to his team and in the same way the Kiwis will also send a new challenge to them.

However, he feels that India has played a lot of cricket with the black caps and hence, they know their strengths and weaknesses.

Sharma and his team is focused on performing better than the previous series and wants to keep on improving after learning from the mistakes in the previous series.

Shed lighting on the challenges ahead of the series, here’s what Rohit Sharma said at the press conference.

“Different teams present different challenges to us. New Zealand is a different team and will present a new challenge to us, but we have played a lot of cricket with them. We know about their players, their strengths and weaknesses. Our focus will be on performing better than the previous series. No matter which team comes in front of us, we have to focus on improving ourselves. Our target is to learn from the previous series and perform even better.”

India were comprehensive in their previous series against Bangladesh at home and beat them 2-0. The Kanpur Test was only played for two and half days.

However, India took the initiative and played a bold brand of cricket to force a result and get all important WTC points.

Then they beat Bangladesh in a three match T20I series by a margin of 3-0. After the Test series against New Zealand, India will travel to Australia for a five match Test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
